Launching 1st Harpenden Camp At Home

29th April 2020

Launching 1st Harpenden Camp At Home

Although we can’t meet “Face to Face” Scouting doesn’t stop!  We’re organising a Virtual Camp from now until 31st May.  Take up the challenge and let’s carry on Scouting.

The Rules...

Here are the “Rules”. We’re asking you all…… Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders, Parents, and all Young People interested in joining in the fun to:

– Pack a bag
– Build a den at home / pitch a tent in the garden/ hang up a hammock (whatever you can)
– Sleep in your shelter of choice
– Build a ‘campfire’ (real or virtual) and remember the marsh mallows!
– Take part in a “Scouty activity” (make something or build something)
– Help with cooking a meal
– Complete by 31st May

MOST IMPORTANTLY……. Each night you participate share a creative photo, video, blog, etc. to our Facebook sites with #CampAtHome:

Each Young Person who takes part will be entitled to 1 Night Away for each night they participate (as long as they aren’t sleeping in their bed). Meaning you could get up to an extra 31 Nights Away if you take on the challenge!

Each Young Person who takes part will be awarded a '1st Harpenden Camp At Home' badge, and this is where you all come in.....

So what does the badge look like ?..... You Design !

We will award each Young Person who takes part in our Camp-At-Home challenge a specially made badge - and we want YOU to design it !

That's right, get out your paints, crayons and coloured pens because we want you all to get designing, drawing and colouring.

The design must:

  • Include the words "1st Harpenden", "Camp At Home" and "2020"
  • Include a design displaying a camping at home type scene
  • Be clear and colourful

The badge can be any shape you like, maximum dimensions 8cm by 8cm.

Please send your badge designs to andywrentmore@gmail.com, along with your name, by Sunday 31st May. All entries will be displayed on our website and the winning entry will be sent off to our badge making factory.

GOOD LUCK !
