Information for New Joiners
1st Harpenden Beavers, Cubs and Scouts meet at our Scout Hut on Granary Lane (Scout Hut location).
Beavers (age 6 - 8)
- Planets Colony meet Mondays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm
- Neptune Colony meet Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm
- Example Beaver Programme: Camps, Campfire, Cooking, Easter Egg Hunt, Farm Visit, Healthy Eating, Hedgehog Sanctuary Visit, Orienteering, Phasels Wood Activity Day, Sports Day, Sunflower growing.

Cubs (age 8 - 10½)
- Jaguar Pack meet Mondays from 6.45pm to 8.15pm
- Puma Pack meet Tuesdays from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
- Example Cub Programme: Annual Rothamsted Challenge, Backwoods cooking, Bike Ride, District Camp, Fire lighting, Hemel XC visit, Hikes, Ice-Skating, Observatory visit, Raft building, Science night, Shelter building, Summer Camp.

Scouts (age 10½ - 14½)
- Wednesdays from 7.15pm to 9.00pm
- Thursdays from 7.15pm to 9.00pm
- Example Scout Programme: Annual London Monopoly Run, Assault course, Axe skills, Bike ride, Bridge building and river crossing, Fire lighting, Green Beret Challenge Camp, GoKarting, Houses of Parliament visit, Ice-Skating, Knife Skills, Patrol cooking, Watersports, Saw Skills, Survival night, Summer Camp.

Annual Subscriptions
Subscriptions are £115 per year (at 2023), payable in January.
Online Payments
We use GoCardless to process online payments for annual subscriptions (due each January) and payments for events. See here for information about Online Payments and see here for payment policy information.

Online Scout Manager
You may receive an automated email from the Parent Portal in OSM (Online Scout Manager) to complete census information. Providing this information is a standard request from The Scout Association to help create a detailed picture of the young people and adults that make up our membership. Information is stored anonymously, please do action this email if you receive it, thanks.
Volunteering
Finally, we'd love you to volunteer!
1st Harpenden Scouts is run exclusively by parent volunteers and each family is expected to help in some way.
