1st Harpenden Scout Summer Fete - Thank you

Dear Supporters of 1st Harpenden Scout Group,

I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Executive Committee to say a heartfelt and almighty THANK YOU for helping make the recent Summer Fete and AGM such a success.

These activities are a team effort and I'm sure you'll join me in giving particular thanks to our fabulous volunteers who ran the BBQ and drinks stall, baked and sold cakes, ran the activity stalls, set up and cleared down the grounds, donated the big teddy (won by Elodie who named him 'Oscar') and all the other myriad of tasks that went into this event.

A few special mentions too:
To Stuart Roberts for supplying the burgers and sausages, to Simone Smith who made the balloon arch (littlesmithteepee@yahoo.com, Little Smith Perfect Party Co. on Facebook) and to Russ Brooks, District Commissioner, for taking the time to invest our new Leaders and awarding us the 'Group Award'.

The goal of the fete and AGM was to raise the funds needed to carry out our Scouting programme. Events like this bring people together and provide an atmosphere with a strong sense of community, spirit and pride. Your overwhelming support is an inspiration and very much appreciated. Together, we raised £1438; that amount will go a long way to providing excellent experiences for our young people.
