1st Harpenden Complete #RaceRoundTheWorld

After 87 walks, 72 cycle rides, 50 runs, 3 scoots, walks to school, dog walks and family outings in 31 days, 1st Harpenden's #RaceRoundTheWorld is complete.

In the national campaign the Cubs travelled the farthest.

Well Done Cubs !

The real winners of course are the 500 Scout Groups across the country who need our support to survive, the national campaign has raised over £209k so far and will continue keeping the donation pages open until 8 January.

1st Harpenden travelled 2,848 miles and raised £1,168. As a Group our fundraising total is 11th highest in the UK and we should all feel immensely proud, this is Scouts helping Scouts and we have played our part well.

Scouts finished First in 1st Harpenden

In our 1st Harpenden mini-competition between the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, 50 people logged their miles. Each section took their turn in the lead, but in the end it was the Scouts with their strategic 'Final Push Hike' which gave them their unstoppable total.

  • In First Place 1st Harpenden Scouts with 1,434 miles
  • Second Place 1st Harpenden Cubs on 817 miles
  • Third Place 1st Harpenden Beaver Miles with 598 miles

Outstanding Contributions !

  • Beavers: Dexter Roberts travelled 182 miles
  • Cubs: Theo Marke travelled 145 miles
  • Scouts: Monty Roberts travelling an eye-popping 273 miles

We've had scooter riders: Jessica Abrey, Charles Cooper and Max Wilson. Lots of goal setting and family walks/cycles. Zig-zagging, muddy walks, cycling in a gale, Christmas trails, reindeer patterns on Strava.

  • Dan Pratley 73 miles
  • Edward Rodgers 53 miles

Rob Jenkinson, Thursday Scout Leader, set a goal of 500 miles and £500. He smashed both, cycling and walking 506 miles and raising £530. He is the 17th highest fundraiser in the UK for Team Scouts !
