In May this year, at the height of the first national lockdown, our very own Vladi and Peter Kuna from 1st Harpenden kicked off the Building A Rainbow from Painted Stones Fundraising Project in recognition of the 200 year anniversary of the international day of the nurse and midwife.
We had an amazing response from 1st Harpenden and the wider Harpenden Scouting community with over 500 painted stones and £425 donated. Through PwC's matched giving programme this donation was boosted by £250 to an incredible £675 for the Luton & Dunstable Hospital Charitable fund helping NHS Frontline Staff who work tirelessly in the face of the virus, true heroes in our hearts.
In recognition of the contribution made during the pandemic, 1st Harpenden have been awarded The High Sheriff of Bedfordshire Certificate which will take pride of place in our Scout Hut when we soon return to Face-to-Face Scouting.
With many thanks to everyone in Harpenden.
